In homeopathy we view disease as a battle of vibrations between the pathogenic microorganisms and body’s cells. To catch the disease the body’s cells resonate energetically with the pathogen and then the invading microorganism infects the cell. Our immune system, in fact, is given by how well our body’s cells are working and how healthy energetically they are. We know now that the cell membrane vibrates at a certain basic frequency and at a certain amplitude. Although diseased cells have a different amplitude of oscillation due to their reduced potential, their frequency remains the same. Through the resonance phenomenon, that can come into effect by magnetic field or the energetic homeopathic remedies, this amplitude of oscillation can be reinforced by resonance.
Before a chronic disease is installed, the body can strive functionally for years. (read here). Slowly, the body’s cells are not able now to work at their full capacity and functions are poorly performed, being energetically depleted. The organism strives to maintain a relative balance and consumes large amounts of constitutional energy to maintain a relative health. To heal we need two things: sufficient energy and ‘healing information’.
Three methods which meet these requirements can be mentioned from the field of alternative medicine and are considered energetic medicine (Dr. P. Klaus Connert, in Introduction to “Practice of Magnetic Field Therapy" by Dr. C. Thuile, M.D. 1998) :
Homeopathy - here the healing information of plants, minerals, animals, etc., is potentiated through a process of medicinal potentiation and is thus rendered in a form that can be utilized by people, at the energetic level. If the medicine is applied according to the law of similarity, it provides information and energy to the person who is sick.
Acupuncture - a person’s energy status is determined on the basis of his/her history plus a physical examination; then needles are placed at control points - acupuncture points - to change the flow of vital energy (chi). In addition, herbs and regulating exercises may be prescribed.
Magnetic field therapy - The earth’s magnetic field is essential to us for life. Because we live in homes filled with noise and a multitude of technical electromagnetic fields (radio, wireless, cell phones, etc.- electrosmog), people can no longer absorb this energy adequately. Therefore, therapeutic use of suitable electromagnetic fields is a necessary basic treatment for acute and chronic diseases. If enough non-specific energy is available to a person, many disturbances can be handled simply by means of self-regulation (immune system).
“The future of medicine will take place in the fields of energy and information, and this future has already begun.” (Dr. P. Klaus Connert)
Today we have entered an era where we can, via machines using therapeutic pulsed electromagnetic fields, strengthen the energy-field of each cell and thereby fortifying and protecting ourselves from disease.
How it works?
The term electromagnetic interaction is understood to refer to the mutual influence of magnetic fields and electrical current. This means not only that a magnetic field can be produced by an electric current flowing in a coil (the principle of these therapeutic devices) but that magnetic fields can induce a current in a conductor such as the human body (the principle of magnetic fields acting on the human body). Under suitable conditions, magnetic fields can influence the ionic current on the cell membrane (a current in the form of ions flows due to an electrochemical potential).
To better explain this phenomenon, we have to talk a little about our body’s cells. Despite the wide variety of forms and functions, all cells have a uniform structure (nucleus, cell fluid, cell membrane). In the cell membrane important proteins which serve as communication media for the cell are imbedded. The most important function here is the pumping function of certain proteins (sodium potassium pump), where ions are being transported from a site of a high concentration to a site of a lower concentration. The cell membrane potential is built up with the consumption of energy, prerequisite for metabolism and cell communication. The electrochemical potential established by the membrane pumps (negative charge inside of the cell and positive charge carriers outside) makes charged particles to travel inside and outside of the cell through the cell membrane. In simplified terms, an electric current flows.
This fact plays an important role in the effect of magnetic field therapy, because this have a positive effect on the flow of ions through the cell membrane. A sick cell has a reduced potential, which means that there is a greatly reduced mass exchange in the cell (nutrients, in or waste, out). In organ parts where circulation is poor, cells are not longer receiving enough oxygen to be able to supply enough energy for operation of the pumps in the cell membrane. As a result, some of the pumps stop working and the cell potential drops. A supply of energy in the cell can reverse this situation. Through magnetic field therapy the flow of ions and so also the utilization of oxygen in the cell are greatly improved; tired cells are revitalized, so that organs with restricted function can then fulfill their functions better. This is one of the reasons for the success of magnetic field therapy; the main point of action is the cell membrane, which carries a current due to the ions exchange.
In addition, electromagnetic interaction and resonance also play an important role as a medium of information transfer between the magnetic field and the cell.
